Practice Information - The Practice

Introduction

Mr. Feldman practices immigration and aviation law.  His offices are in Center City Philadelphia.   

The Law

Mr. Feldman earned his law degree in May, 1996 from the Chicago-Kent College of Law, IIT, where his studies included a specialization in international law. Mr. Feldman left the prestigious Philadelphia immigration law firm of Baumann, DeSeve and Landau to start his own practice in 2003. Mr. Feldman's practice has been focused primarily on employment and family immigration law and he also does removal defense work and advises non citizen defendants in criminal matters.

Mr. Feldman has a strong pro bono commitment having won the HIAS and council Pro Bono Award.  In 2011 he finished a 10 year pro bono project representing nearly thirty victims of human trafficking and their family members.  As this ground breaking project wound up all those who wished to have permanent residence in the U.S. had their cases granted.  

Prior to practicing immigration law Mr. Feldman practiced union side labor law. Shortly after completing law school Mr. Feldman took a position with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 747 where he was representing flight deck crew members worldwide. As president of the local Mr. Feldman's legal duties were very much in the role of general counsel, selecting and working with outside counsel. He also provided direct representation to the local and its members. This included organizing, negotiating collective bargaining agreements, representing pilots and flight engineers before company officials, system boards and government agencies including the FAA, the NTSB, the NMB and the DOT.

Aviation

A professional pilot for 20 years Mr. Feldman rose through the civilian pilot ranks to become an airline captain. Along the way he served in management positions at a part 135 air carrier and several flight schools. His pilot jobs included flight instructing, charter freight and passenger transportation and piloting large transport category aircraft. While an airline pilot Mr. Feldman co-authored a manual used company wide for international aircraft ferry flights at a time when the carrier needed to take overseas delivery of a large number of new aircraft but had no intercontinental operations. He was also a crew member on several of those international delivery flights including duties as pilot in command. Mr. Feldman utilizes general aviation to met clients through out Pennsylvania and nearby states.

Science and Engineering

Mr. Feldman's background includes extensive knowledge of science and technology gained in both academic and industrial settings. Mr. Feldman applies this knowledge to representing science and engineering clients with particular emphasis on engineers, researchers and professors. Mr. Feldman credits his ability as a science generalist for the numerous successful outstanding researcher, outstanding ability and extraordinary ability petitions in diverse academic fields including, biology, biotechnology, surgery, chemistry, chemical engineering, signal processing, micro electronics and solid state optics.  He attributes his success to his ability to understand the science and technology and he believes that such understanding is necessary to representing highly skilled immigrants.
