The recent decision by the Department of State to terminate all 8 Flight School exchange visitor programs will likely have no impact on flight training. Further, the Department of Homeland Security through its subsidiary organization the USCIS will not need to "create a new visa category, M" as one publication has stated. That category already exists and there are already numerous 14 CFR 141 flight schools, both large and small, authorized to enroll "M" students - including all 8 flight schools that will be losing their J-1 programs.
