Comments on the T and U Adjustment Regulations are Due February 10, 2009

On December 12, 2008 the USCIS issued long awaited regulations regarding adjustment of status for T and U visa holders.

These regulations are generally acknowledged to be a good first effort, even if extremely tardy.  They do however have serious problems which must be corrected.

The regulations were issued as an Interim rule which means they are effective on the effective date, but open for comments and correction.  They became effective on January 12, 2009.

If you represent effected foreign nationals, or you are concerned that the intent of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act be followed, then please take the time to read the regulations and comment on them.  The regulations can be found at 73 FR 75540.
